My first project is nearing completion, and it has been a great learning experience. I’m at the end of my fifth skein of yarn. Laying out my work and looking at the difference from one end to the other clearly shows how my technique and tension has kept improving. It’s a wonderful feeling.
One thing I’ve noticed, is that I should have switched yarn on the same side of the project. If I had done that, the rows of color change would all have been on the same side of the scarf. I’m not going to rip back everything and redo it, but instead let it be a reminder of things to keep in mind moving forward.
After having a look at the current length of the scarf, I’m going to use one more skein and do the bind off. The end of my very first knitting project is close at hand.
