I got a bit sidetracked, and spent some of the evening watching knitting podcasts. Apparently a lot of ladies have turned to YouTube to create podcasts with them showing off their works in progress, or WIPs. I clearly have a long way to go before I get to their level of experience and skill.

Another day, another skein of yarn. It was a bit of a challenge to switch to the next skein of yarn, so yet another trip to my trusty source of information on everything knitting was in order. YouTube came up with a lot of ideas for how to tackle this problem, and as always, people have different ideas on how to approach this, and some of them there less useful than others.

It’s still pretty cold here, so why not let the first knitting project be to make a warm scarf. It’s a great beginner project and the kind of yarn I already have on hand is perfect for it. I don’t need to learn any special techniques to do it and it’s just back and forth until I feel it’s long enough.

Equipped with 5,5mm knitting needles and some yarn from Hjertegarn called Ragg Melanges, my knitting adventure was ready to begin. But having no clue about how to actually cast-on meaning, creating the initial stitches to actually be able to knit anything, called for some YouTube searching.
